On July 24th, the “Chinese and Foreign Classical Art Songs Concert” came to a successful end at the Poly Theater in Yixing, Zhejiang Province.

Soprano Dr. Lu Huang, together with Zhang Huan, an Italian Opera Artistic Director, young pianist and Artistic Director of the Department of Vocal and Song of the China Conservatory of Music, will perform traditional Chinese antiques, modern classics and contemporary new compositions as well as classic foreign art songs.

In this performance, Huang Lu presented twelve Chinese and foreign classic art songs, including “Yu Meiren - Listening to the Rain”, “Autumn Wind Lyrics”, “Jinse”, “The Joy of Love”, “Charm”, “Have Mercy on Me, Idol of the Heart”, “Rest in Peace, Departed Souls”, “Thoughts”, “Sorrow”, “Nian Nujiao, Red Cliffs with a Memory of Antiquity”, “Sending Farewell”, and “By the Side of the Waters”, which include both the traditional lyrics music which inherits the classics of the ancient lyrics and ancient tunes and modern classics which integrate the traditional lyrics music and western compositional techniques, as well as contemporary new compositions created by contemporary composers. The program includes traditional lyric music inheriting ancient lyrics and songs, as well as modern classics integrating traditional lyric music with western compositional techniques, and contemporary new works by present-day composers.
