On the evening of November 29, 2018, Huang Lu, a young soprano and doctoral student of Professor Ma Qiuhua, a renowned vocal educator, successfully completed the premiere of “Chinese Art Songs Concert Tour” at the Shandong Arts Institute.

The concert was organized by the Department of Vocal Opera of the China Conservatory of Music, the Graduate School of the China Conservatory of Music, and the School of Music of Shandong Normal University, and hosted by the Shandong Academy of Arts and the School of Music of Linyi University, and co-organized by the Beijing Guoyun Media and the Fenghua Guoyun Art Center. Vocal Network gave media support. In the evening, Li Haiou, Dean of the School of Music of Shandong Normal University; Li Yuntao, Dean of the School of Music of Shandong Arts Institute; and Lei Yan, a famous baritone singer, attended the concert.

During the concert, Liu Xiaojiang, a teacher at the China Conservatory of Music, acted as a guide to explain and introduce the concert to the audience. The piano accompanist for the concert was young pianist Zhang Huan, artistic director of the Vocal Opera Department of the China Conservatory of Music.

Tenor singer Zhou Qiang of China Conservatory of Music sang two classic modern art songs “Teach Me How Not to Think of Him” and “Homesickness” as the guest of honor, which is one of the highlights of this concert. Baritone singer, Qiu Zhaowei, a young teacher at the School of Music of Shandong Normal University, also sang two modern art songs, “Ask” and “Eastward Goes the Great River”, which won the applause of the audience.

The concert came to an end with the deep and beautiful “Nostalgia Song”, and the audience was deeply immersed in the deep and melodious mood of Chinese art songs. In the warm applause of the audience, Huang Lu returned to the stage for the first time to sing the classic piece “On the Waterfront”. At the end of the performance, in the midst of endless applause, at the invitation of the audience, Huang Lu returned to the stage again to sing “Swallow's Words” for the audience who could not get enough of it.
